Things are a lot different now, I have left my job because we intend to move so I can go back to school. My husband is sicker than ever, just getting over pneumonia and doctors are now concerned with some mysterious lymph node problem in is stomach but they will not give us any further details because we cannnot pay the bill. I am trying to get my husband to a state where they have some medicaid and where they have an actual university so I can finish my masters degree. I am trying to help my family myself but it seems the more I try to dig us out the farther in we fall. Right now I am 500 dollars short of what I need to get us where we are going. If anyone out there can help please get in contact with me. My landlord intends to put us out on Monday, he was of course not going to tell us that. He asked me to come and meet him alone in the office to work out a deal last week but my husband said he figured the intentions there were less than honorable and I agree, I need help but not at the expense of my soul.

Thank you for listening!

Ingrid

Update: Thank you DIN and Grandmasteph, for your comments. We have already been to DHS, they are the ones booting us off the insurance, but they have extended it until June 21, so we are trying to get all prescriptions refilled before then and at least one more visit to the doctor :) We have already applied for disability for him, and have been turned down twice, apparently in Tennessee if you aren't a mental patient or a drug addict you cannot get disability. There is no section 8 here as far as I can tell I have already talked with HUD. The good news is if we want to we can pack all of our things and move into a small apartment in the projects where we will have just one bathroom and cockroaches to boot. (a no-no with someone who has kidney problems, colon problems and asthma) But all suggestions are good so keep them coming, I am looking into the Hill Burton Fund, thanks for the 411! and yes DIN, I appreciate your prayers, I too have looked at this as a learning experience and we only love each other more, adversity really does strengthen the ties that bind. I put this and every day in God's hands, I know he'll give me what he wants me to have. You guys are great! BTW the car is fixed, thank God it was something simple and not too expensive, though I did spend the money I was going to give the landlord on parts, I guess this time the lesser of the two evils is eviction. Love You All!

Hi there. I want to thank you for viewing my aidpage, it means a lot to me that people learn what kind of problems are befalling grandparents who try to raise their grandchildren due to whatever circumstances cause a problem with the biological parents. I was reading about your situation. I wonder if you have been in touch with Section 8 in your area for your housing needs? The local Health and Human Service System ought to be able to point you in the right direction. Perhaps there are some low cost or even free clinics in your area that can help with meds for your husband. I am not sure if there is a hospital near you that participates but there is a Federal Program and it is in place in many hospitals in this country to help those who cannot afford to pay and have no other insurance. It is called The Hill-Burton Fund. I am sure if you call your local hospital's Credit dept. they can tell you about the fund. I am pretty sure that with your husband's illness, especially since it is chronic and disabling, that he could get disability payments. I would contact the Social Security people immediately to see what can be done. In many cases they can also provide insurance coverage for the individual who is disabled. Check with your local social service office and see if there are any places that might be of help to you and your family due to the inability of your husband to work due to his physical condition. Best of luck to you. I hope that these suggestions are of some help to you. God Bless. Grandma Steph.

We don't know why we are placed in circumstances that seems unbearable at times and why if he (GOD) sees us ,not help. Looking back at the things that i have been through, phisically, spiritually, mentall y and yes, financially.I come to realize that through all that struggle and hardship, I have become stronger, more sensative to my wife as well as my three other kid's needs, feelings and desires. I have become real close to them that even friends and family have commented on how great a husband and father i have become. I have lost 85 lbs from being 350 lbs. Really come to cherish my devotional time with my lord and savior Jesus Christ. What I am trying to say, without trying to be too religious, is that through our greatest trials or sufferings comes even greater annointings or Blessings. Instead of focusing on the negatives turn to the positives. ex. your Angel and husband, time with them will be cherished.Look for the good, that as a result of these trials, It has made you stronger(persaverance) etc. A mentor of mine once told me," champ, put your faith in HIM(CHRIST JESUS) and he will prove himself faithful." He has never failed me. The thing is: You must repent, ask forgiveness( Because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD.) Ask him to come into your life and be the lord and savior. " Therefore if the son had made you free, than you are free indeed." Thank you for your time. Lord, show yourself to this sister,to be a GOD that does care and is faithful. Lord give her revelation knowledge of who you truly are. Lord complete your work in her so that she too can be a testimony of you love and faithfulness. father renew her spirit and give her peace, your peace that surpasses all understanding. We thank you lord that even before she was born ,you knew her and that you have plans for her.Plans to prosper her and not to harm her.Plan for her success and not her failure, all for your great purpose. BLESS her and her family,Lord. In JESUS name,AMEN. Sister go in PEACE. DIN
